AL PICCOLO TEATRO PATAFISICO DEBUTTA QUESTO WEEKEND: “THE ADAM’S FAMILY”
UNA PIECE CHE CON PUNGENTE IRONIA SI INTERROGA SUI RAPPORTI UMANI SPECIE QUELLI TRA FAMILIARI

Già dalle prime apparizioni, il telefilm degli anni Sessanta la Famiglia Addams, mette in scena una parte della società contemporanea: quella in ombra. I membri che la compongono sono essi stessi archetipi dei comportamenti umani che, con la loro grottesca confusione fra dolore e piacere, incarnano l’eterno oscillare dell’uomo fra bene e male.

La piece “The Adam’s Family” che debutterà al Piccolo Teatro Patafisico di via Gaetano la Loggia 5 a Palermo, venerdì 1, sabato 2 (alle 21) e domenica 3 marzo (alle 18), vuole soffermarsi su un punto preciso: ma se quei personaggi che si ghigliottinano la testa, si tagliano braccia senza provare alcun dolore invece lo provassero? se Gomez e Mortisia entrassero in contatto col dolore, con la realtà, cosa accadrebbe?

The Pittari Family: “Ustica now lives in our hearts as well!”

Our maternal great-grandfather, Vincenzo Michel Palmisano, was born in Ustica in 1853, and immigrated with his wife, Concetta Orsino, to New Orleans, Louisiana, in approximately 1877. Our paternal grandfather, Domenico Pittari, immigrated from Ustica to New Orleans in 1888, at the young age of 7. It has always been a dream of my younger brother, Tony, and myself to go to Ustica to find our roots. That dream was realized on May 24, 2015, when we arrived in Ustica with my wife, son, daughter-in-law, and 9 year old grandson. What a thrilling and emotional moment to see the island for the first time from the hydrofoil. We spent three glorious days getting to know Ustica.

Besides finding our roots, we found a unique, picturesque and somewhat sleepy little island with warm, friendly and hospitable people, both family and strangers. We were welcomed into (altro…)

Beautiful picture. The mother in the picture Marianna Pittari was born 1860 in Ustica. Her parents were Francesco Pittari and Maria Caserta. Francesco’s father was Antonio PIttari, born about 1804 in Ustica.
There is also a Guiseppe Pittari that married Anna Tauro in Ustica, date unknown.
The picture is from Claudia Aiaimo, Pittari, Wilson, in California. She would sure like to hear from anyone in Ustica or Palermo that is a part of this family.

We’ve gotten notice from a few of our out-of-town members and friends that they will attend. And, Pietro and Pina Bertucci and Salvatore Compagno of Ustica will be in New Orleans to attend the picnic as well.

CSBA is organizing the food / drinks for the picnic and were asking that everyone bring a favorite Creole / Cajun / Italian dish so that we can get a true taste of New Orleans. Any help is welcome and you don’t have to feed everyone. Please note that no glass is allowed in the park and remember to bring a chair too. If our 2010 picnic serves as an example, we should expect from 60 – 100 people! Please send an email to csba@ustica.org with your contribution if you want to pitch in.

A map showing the location of the pavillion in the park is attached. We got the shelter nearest the Downs Blvd entrance (also closest to the bathrooms!). Please remember to bring a chair too.
