Dear friends of the CSBA,
We’re gearing up for the August 23rd San Bartolomeo feast day celebration here in New Orleans. This is our premier event for the year and there are a few changes in store that promise to make it a special day. Come out and help us celebrate our 147th year as a society. For details on the event and how you can make a reservation, go to the CSBA Homepage.
Also at the homepage, you’ll find event notices for the summer. The coffee meetups, in particular, have been a great way to socialize in a relaxed setting. The next one is this Saturday, July 18th 11am at Gendusa’s Italian Eatery in their private back room, 2717 Williams Blvd, Kenner, LA. This event is free and open to the public, though you’re responsible for your own food and drink. Most of us stick around for lunch.
Catch up on the latest happenings at the Ustica Genealogy Homepage at our next zoom meeting to be held on Monday, July 20th at 8pm CST. Details are copied below. Earlier this year some Italian Census records became available online. The Lipari 1610 Census (dang, that’s old!!!) has already been indexed and incorporated in the UGH family charts. You can read ahead about it in an article published to the CSBA Homepage. Click on “The Ustica Connection” in the left side menu and scroll down to the link for Issue 21 – The Riveli – Ancient Census Records of Italy. The zoom presentation will be recorded and a link to it posted at the homepage the day after the presentation.

Ci stiamo preparando per la festa di San Bartolomeo del 23 agosto qui a New Orleans. Il prossimo si terrà questo sabato 18 luglio alle 11:00 presso il ristorante italiano Gendusa’s, nella loro sala privata sul retro, al 2717 di Williams Blvd, Kenner, LA. L’evento è gratuito e aperto al pubblico, ma le spese per cibo e bevande sono a carico dei partecipanti. La maggior parte di noi si ferma anche per pranzo.

I dettagli sono riportati di seguito. All’inizio di quest’anno, alcuni registri del censimento italiano sono diventati disponibili online. Il censimento di Lipari del 1610 (caspita, è antichissimo!!!) è già stato indicizzato e integrato negli alberi genealogici della famiglia UGH. Potete leggere un’anteprima in un articolo pubblicato sulla pagina web della CSBA.
