I wish I could be there for the exhibit, unfortunately the earliest I will be able to return is next summer. I have researched my family extensively over the years, both Manfre’ and Licciardi. My Great Great Grandparents, Francesco Manfre’ and Raffaela Delbuono Manfre’ emigrated from Ustica to New Orleans in 1890. They made several trips back and forth between Ustica and New Orleans during the early 1890’s. Francesco and Raffaela had four children: Rosa, Antonino, Giuseppe, and Gaetano. My Great Grandfather Antonino was the only one born in Louisiana; however, he was not the youngest he was the second child. His three siblings were all born in Ustica. I’m going to continue my research in Ustica when I return next summer!

Good to read about another Manfre’. Hope to meet someday in Ustica !! I think when you do more genealogy of the Manfre line, you will find that all of us Manfre family came from those 2 Manfre men in the 1700’s, Guiseppe and Antonino Manfre. You will also see a repetition of the names Antonino, Guiseppe and Gaetano thru the centuries.
