Hi Marlene, “Ufuli” is the usticese version, in dialect, for Sea Snails. These people are all from Ustica, actually the lady in the left is my sister Maria the men in the right is her husband Diego La Valle, the lady in center Anna Maggiore a friend, the boy my nephew Claudio La Valle. They pick sea snails that sauteed in a red sauce out of the shells are a delicacy and make an excelent spaghetti dish, hummm…

Very interesting !! what are they collecting ?? CAn’t find the name of the fish or shell fish in my Italian dictionary. Is that tourists or people of Ustica ??
