Impressions of Ustica – Angelo & Diana Palmisano –

After 3 years of planning we finally made it to Ustica. We came to meet and visit my Palmisano relatives and to see Ustica. Pietro and Pina Bertucci is taking good care of us. We met with the oldest man in Ustica, Pasqualli Palmisano and his family (we are all cousins). We toured the caves (grotte) with Peppe Caminita and had a wonderful dinner at Giovanni and Ada Martucci home (see photos). Pino Pellerito and Giuseppe Badagliacco prepared Vasteddi (a traditional italian sandwich) and sausage. Giovanni played the accordian and we all danced the night away.

Everyone is very friendly, the food is delicious, the Island is beautiful, we would encougate everyone to visit this unique Island and its people.

Greetings to Ustica from Alaska! I am the daughter of Angelo Palmisano. I am very impressed with the hospitality of the Ustica residents as they welcome my father back to his homeland. I hope to make a visit to Ustica someday myself. Thank you for taking care of Angelo and Diana on their trip.
