What a wonderful Reunion of people with Usticesi roots and also our very welcome guests from Ustica –Pietro and Pina Bertucci and Salvatore and Maria Compagno. Beautiful mangia !!!! beautiful people, !!! much love and talking !!!
We met at beautiful house of Bob and Sheri Grande. Had alot guests !!! Usticesi roots there were Marchese-Manfre, Taranto, Tranchina, Prima, Del Buono, Longo, Di Mauro, Pittari, Rando, and almost all had roots to Bertucci !!!!
Also many children !!! 17 children !!! a big pool and play area for the children. We also had a few guests with no Usticesi roots, but Italian and Sicily roots !!!
Marlene Robershaw, Manfre announced to the guests that the children there represent almost 200 years of Manfre descendants !!!Maria Manfre born in 1816, and it is now 2013, in 3 years it will be 200 years. Bravo !!!!!!!!!!!!
This was such a good day for re-connecting with family, and also meeting new Italian friends.

P.S.The picture that Ron Robershaw (my husband) is holding is first baby of Maria Manfre, Rosalia Manfre Anello, born in 1842. Also, that is Bob Grande in the kitchen fixing food. Pina and Maria also made lasagna and grand fruit salad.

  3. What a beautiful and exciting experience for me to have the opportunity to meet those here in California that have roots from the island that I love so much. There were so many names that I recognized from my 2-month vacations on Ustica. I felt welcomed among these people that come from 200 years of history from Ustica. It was exciting to see Pietro Bertucci, who I met last summer on Ustica, and finally meet his wife Pina. How wonderful to meet Salvatore and Maria Compagno who I recognized from my daily walks all over the island. I enjoyed talking with them in Italian and feeling connected once again to the enchantment of that little island.
Thank you Bob and Sheri Grande for opening up your beautiful home and hosting this reunion and Marlene Robershaw, most of all, for allowing me to be a part of your roots from the island that fills my heart and thoughts with joy, Ustica.
